Green Sony VAIO Cover
Let’s go Green! During spare 15 hours I did the new paper case for my Sony Vaio laptop. I used Two types of cardboard and recycled paper. To stick all together I did need double side tape and high durability transparent tape which covered the keyboard. It doesn’t overheat due the fact that paper actually covered all unnecessary holes in case so dedicated vents now work correctly. The trackpad also works perfectly.
The less pleasant part of work was creating the keys. I had to cut 87 small bits of paper in 6 sizes, than write the Letter or description, later cover it with transparent tape and also double sided tape from back (so i can stick it to original keyboard), after that cut out the unnecessary borders and finally with good precision stick it to keys.

The best part was to remove layer of paper covering perforations by using the water and scalpel and cutting out the Vaio logo using the pattern.
I really love this piece of hardware. It was quite high spec when I bought it. It was originally sell with Windows Vista but I downgraded to Xp it it works absolutely amazing. The only downfall after over 2 years is the battery which is completely off. Unplugging power cable = immediate death of laptop. In my type of work it doesn’t help at all.
